One of the most fast food sold is McDonalds. The article “Let Them Eat Fat” by Greg Critter is about how fast food supersize meals are the most targets within cities and communities. I believe that supersize meals are cheap and are unhealthy for people that consume any supersize food is not the right thing to do.

McDonalds have this major hit called the dollar menu. McDonalds and other restaurants make their food cheap and affordable for customers to consume. According to the article if the employer doesn’t recommend a supersize meal, the supersize meal is free for the customers. If they order the supersize they would have to pay 29 cents more. Ordering food from outside home is easy way to eat something quick. For a person that doesn’t have enough time for a home cook meal the perpetration would take approximately 45 minutes, but there are people that don’t have enough time to cook when you make home cook meals you do know how many fats and nutrients you’re eating from a healthy meals rather than McDonalds.

McDonalds and many fast food restaurants can be unhealthy to eat. According to U.S dietary, fast food meals consume over 680 calories to 1,340 calories. A normal healthy diet for females is 2,100 calories and for males is 2,300 calories. Teenagers are representing more than 1,340 calories with “adding calories themselves are protein –poor but fat a carbohydrate rich”. Teenager that consume over more than there calories factor don’t have an ability to be active with other teenagers. The re physical activity dropped about half with the teenage boys and girls. This leads to health problems such as heart attack, diabetes, high cholesterol and blood pressure. For example my brother always drinks soda and eats fast food every single day. He only weights 135 pounds, he may look skinny but he has a big health problem. When he visited his doctor on check updates they told him he has high cholesterol. The doctor recommended him to do exercise three times a week and walk more. Especially drink plenty of water and eat healthy foods.

In conclusion, fast food maybe cheap but it can lead to a lot of unhealthy issues to your body and health.

Blog #15

People don’t know what they do to the meat before they out it into the meat packaging. In “The Meatrix” shows about the meat industry. The agribusiness meat industries are taken over the farm industries. I believe that is really unfair to the animals and can be dangerous to humans.

The animal get mistreated bad just to feed human society. In the slaughter the burley hurt to animal buy hitting them ripping them in torn between. In The Meatrix they have shown that they cut the beaks of chicken or hens. When they cut the chicken and/or hen beak they feel for the pain over months. Not only with bird but also they mistreat the cows by cutting their tails. Animal feel the pain within weeks or month that can cause them infection towards themselves. Another example that The Meatrix shows that the animals are crowded on top of each other with no space to walk and living in the worst conditions. The pain and condition they live within every single day can cause themselves infection without knowing it would affect anyone.

Disease is caused the things we eat, the fist target is the meat. When the animals are torture and don’t have any good condition of living can produce infection. For example, in the year of 2009 there was an enormous infection called the swine flu. According to ABC news “the virus in pigs of Americas, the virus in the pigs in Asia -- got together and formed this particular virus that's now come into humans.” Said Richard Webby, Ph.D.. This can be the cause by the antibiotic that the animals have been receiving to get the nutrients and cover the pain they been going thru months.

blog #14

Why do you think the makers of The Meatrix films used The Matrix as the basis for their arguments? What possible connections could the food industry have to the ideas in The Matrix and, by association, the themes of this course?

The markers of The Meatrix films used The Matrix as the basis for thier arguements is that people are not well informed of what they eat. they think that the animal live "happly ever after" mesaning in a good envirment. in reality they live in a horrablie mess treated place. where the animal is abused.

Blog #13

The matrix was about how technology can be a major influence in our life. Each person can choose what they want to do with their life and what they believe in. I believe that "The Matrix", "The Truman Show" and "The Allegory of the Cave"is showing that technology is taken control of our lifestyle. Our world choose technology to run and/or help our lives. There can be the importance, an impact and even spoiling ourselves with technology.

Technology is important to our society. The reason is that we watch the news on television to get our information that is based on our community or regions. For example the election of President Obama. He was the first African American to become President. The Nation Wide first experience his winning election and his speech of address in Washington D.C through television or on the computer. Another reason technology is important is because we humans use the internet as a social network to communicate with other people from different part of the countries. They use Myspace, Facebook, and even twitter.

Technology have an major impact within us, the reason is that it can bring the world to destruction or we can destroy each other. For example, during World War 1,2 and the Cuban Missile crises. Every country was competing with one another based on who had the strongest weapon. Weapon of destruction are not the only problem, technology such as cell phones and Ipods can cause accidents as well. A student from Laguardia Community College was in a accident who got run over by a garbage truck. The cause of the accident was that the student didn't listen nor watch both ways while crossing the street because he was listening to their Ipod.

Technology can be a negative and a positive way for our life style.

Blog #12

During this the 1st to the 2nd blog entries I need to improve my own writing. I notice I had trouble with how I need to use evidence to support my own claim. There some point I can be off from topics but I need to come back to what the theme of my essay is. Then I had explain my own reader what was my essay going to be about. For example, was the essay an argument or persuasive I need to indicate what the reader was reading. During my blog entries from 1-4, I stared to plan everything out with layout my ideas and structure the right information into the right paragraph. In blog 6 I didn’t have enough time nor read the instructions more carefully to do my essay. Last but not least, I felt I need help on my grammar based on how clear my sentences was and how I put or place my punctuation such as: column, commas, periods, and etc.

On my 2nd blog entries I know we worked on watching two movies such as the Truman Show and The Matrix. In all our blogs we were able to using the dictionary, thesaurus and the writing handbook. I really enjoy looking up new words and even replacing them with something better. All our work was in live discussions which were interested because we were able to read and learn from different points of view. But really it had me worry about what to write down. There were some problems I had, it was based on what to I write down on my essay. Being on the computer it’s kind of difficult to type I really enjoy writing my essay and an outline based on what to write down, instead of typing the essay. There was a point in class that I learned to use an outline what I need to write down on my essay based on the program you introduce to us. I need to improve and break some bad habits. The last thing I should not do is cut off some major distraction while I’m on the computer is not connecting myself to Facebook. I know this is the worst habits because it would make me lose my concentration towards my work. There are things that I would need to improve such as: work on time, rereading the information or stuff I write down and even go to tutoring more often. If Cristoff gave me a chance to decide where should I want to be I would choose the perfect world. The reason I would choose the perfect world is because there won't be any danger to anybody. The danger that the real world has is violence, war, property, judgmental, and even distruction. Imagen the perfect little world of yours, the American dream life. The only difference in The Truman Show,Truman live in this little globe. If he had the real globe and was able to sees diffrent city or countries besides his home town he would be satisfy.

The world that Cristoff has created tell us about our own society is that we live through diffrent thing and have different social status. Some people are born fortune others are born with low income or nothing at all. Those who are born in property, they need to find there own way to survive. The problems from our society is that this real world hides it's own little secretes. Each day people discover valuable information to help other or distroy. One example I'm bring out is politics. Politics can misinform the society but they know he truth of what we might be going through. Cristoff want to solve or eliminate problems such as violence, war, property. The thing he wanted to do is a movie with a script without Truman knowing his the main character.

Blog entery #7

the thing i need to inprove is correct my grammer, point out my main theise would be about in each article. the challanges i face in this class is that understanding the process of revising my own work and where should i lay out my own essay.

blog entery #6

Plato believe that what they see is what they think is true. Advertisement has become an increase to society from day time till you go to sleep. In article "Hype" by Kalle Lasn, describe how the author gets tired of seeing advertisements. I disagree with the author; I believe that advisements can be prevalent and influence to the American society.

An advertisement is a public promotion of some product or service that persuades the public to buy or know some information. There is estimation about "12 billion display ads, 3 million radio commercials, and more than 200,000 TV commercials advertising". It grabs your attention approximately three thousand message per day. You can find an advertisement by using the internet, watching television and even the outdoors. In the article, Lasn mention there is an increase in commercial advertising has happened so steadily and relentlessly that we, society, don't pay any mind to its effects. Anywhere in America you would see or find an advertisement.
Advertisement can be poisonous and beneficial. Society can be influence from an advertisement to buy the product which it can be useful for them or have it in style. Seeing advertisement makes the person replace or "upgrade" their own item to something that they seem it way better. For example, I have an earphone but once I saw an advertisement of Dr. Dre headphones influenced me to buy those headphones. The reason that went on my mind was it’s in style and makes the songs (music) more realistic. When a person sees or listen to an advertisement that is catchy, it would make a person want the item. Kalle Lasn said “I often used to hear Beethoven's Ninth Symphony play in my head. Now I hear that kid singing the Oscar Meyer Wiener song.
Across America, advertisement can be influence and predominated in society. There are three steps before doing annotation for a passage. The first thing you would have to do is read the passage. Second you would re-read the passage again. Last you annotate your ideas of the reading. The reason you do annotation is to develop the process of what you are reading.

During your annotation you look for this three ideas

· The important ideas

· Thesis or claim

· Words you need to look up

2. Annotation for “Is Goggle Making US Stupid” is that once you Google the information you would easily forget what you are learning. Almost every person skims thru the article and don’t take the time to understand and process fully the information. Within my group they particle agree and disagree with the article. Some believe that goggle is making us smart. The reason they believe that, “is because the information we don’t know we can look it up based on Google.”

3. I learned that annotation is important to your reading because it would help you understand the article. The article "Hype" by Kalle Lasn, describe how the author gets tired of seeing advertisement. How an advertisement can be prevalent and influence American society?
An advertisement is a public promotion of some product or service, that persuade the public to buy or know some information. There is an estimation about "12 billion display ads, 3 million radio commercials, and more than 200,000 TV commercials advertising". It grab your attention approximately three thousand message per day. In the article, Lasn mention there is an increase in commercial advertising has happened so steadily and relentlessly that we, society, don't pay any mind to its effects. Anywhere in America you would see or find an advertisement.
Advertisement can be poisonous or beneficial. Society can be influence from an advertisement to buy the product which it can be useful for them or have it in style. Seeing advertisement makes the person replace or "upgrade" there own item to something that they seem it way better. For example, I have an earphone but once I saw an advertisement of Dr. Dre headphones influenced me to buy those headphones. The reason that went on my mind was it's in style and makes the songs (music) more realistic. When a person sees or listen to an advertisement that is catchy, it would make a person want the item. Kalle Lasn said " I often used to hear Beethoven's Ninth Symphony play in my head. Now I hear that kid singing the Oscar Meyer Wiener song.
Across America, advertisement can be influence and predominated in society.
